Honestly I skimmed the last half of the book. This is written as an anti-tech manifesto with surface level arguments and little no footnotes to research backing any point the author is trying to make. Apparently the book is based on a podcast (had I but known) so maybe go listen to that instead of trying to get through this.

Delving into Marty Hench's backstory was delightful and exhilarating. I thoroughly enjoyed following his meandering route to forensic accounting success while re-visiting the tech scene of the early 80's. I hope this isn't the last we see of Marty.

I wish I had this book 20 years ago. Susan paints a clear picture of the American Ideal and how it's pushed as the only path to success ignoring a large portion of the population that doesn't present as the gregarious social butterfly while highlighting the strengths of the introvert. Highly recommend this book for all personality types!
